location: studio, indoors (actually, my kitchen)

technique:
  • equipment:
    flashlights Metz 32 Z2 (via Nikon flash bracket) + Metz 40 MZ-3i (via Metz Mecalux-11),
    a white sheet of paper, a white wall (as reflectors),
    + a semi-transparent plastic cutting board for kitchen usage (as diffusor)
  • during shoot:
    Coolpix with internal flash turned off, macro mode, aperture max. closed, white balance locked to "dull day" (should have locked ISO sensitivity + shutter speed as well)
    desk lamp to support focussing (invisible on result)
    32 flash bouncing off the wall with 1/1 (full manual) power
    40 flash bouncing off the sheet of paper + through the plastic cutting board with 1/8 ... 1/16 power (determined by experimenting)
  • postprocessing:
    downsizing; edge detection filter (to improve graphical structure)
